Polymer Clay Paintings

I've been playing with polymer clay for years, making small frames and filling them with little pieces of my paintings for holiday gifts. Last winter I made a few with colored clay and became enamoured of the consistency, the vibrancy of color, and the unique possibilites of clay. Recently I have discovered millefiori canes, and now I am painting with clay! What fun.

Here a fewsamples of what I've been building. It is akin to quilt piecing, collage, with some crazy "cane" making thrown in! Enjoy!
